Great book and an indispensable resource!

I had heard of this book a while back, but was skeptical of buying it, as I heard that the way it was organized made it difficult to use. As I have gotten farther into my songwriting however, the rhyming dictionary I bought in middle school was no longer cutting the mustard. I decided to upgrade, and checked online to see what text the Berklee School of Music songwriting classes were using, and this was one of the required texts. I decided to give it a shot because if Berklee liked it, it had to be acceptable at the least.
After buying this book and using it, I am sorry I didn't buy it sooner. Not only does it have rhyming on the last syluble ("As I FLY, into the SKY" kind of rhymes), it also had rhymes that were in the center of a word (I can't think of anything to post, as I am trying to learn how to use this new form a rhyme), and it has several chapters as at the beginning on meter and using rhymes (might be better for poets than songwriters, but still beneficial).
If you are on the fence about this book, and are serious about your craft (whether it be songwriting, poetry, or something else), just buy it! Once you learn how to use it (which is not that difficult) it is an indispensable resource.

I highly recommend Her books

Not what I expected.More So!!!! Turns out Rhyming is a whole new ball game with Rhyming dictionary.Not only one syllable..but 2..3..4..and even 5 syllable words and phrases.Takes awhile to get used to this tpye of rhyming..It goes by phonics.
Not the letters.I am improving my craft .every time I need to look something up.If you are a serious lyricist or poet This book and The Thesaurus are essential.Also Any book by Sheila Davis .One book is "Successfull Lyric Writing..A workbook and text book together.And Sheila Davis has another one out. I highly recommend Her books....Happy writing Donnie (SKYE)

Amazing.

I'm a lyricist for a Hip Hop and also a music producer & performer. So it would be normal to assume one should be equipped with a lyrical arsenal that can rhyme with each & every word without a doubt. I believed that I could rhyme any word based on the phonetics and syllables but I knew one day I would hit a wall when it came to songwriting & stepping up my writing-game. This book or in this case, dictionary, was referred to me by a colleague of mine and explained that he uses it for his online songwriting class for Berklee Music. I became intrigued right away because I needed a new tool that would help enhance my lyrical ability. When I got the book I expected it to be a simple rhyme for rhyme type of book but it actually taps into the technicality of sound & syllable for different words. This is a great book to help you understand meters, phonetics, & other technical aspects for the english language not just for rhyming words but even for everyday use like public & motivational speaking.
